13:00 Training, Part 2
To succeed in Nigeria’s power sector, it is vital to have a clear and up to date understanding of the industry’s many public and private stakeholders. This three-hour workshop serves as an in depth industry overview, for those new to the industry or country, as well as industry leaders wishing to gain additional knowledge of the key players.

During the first half of the workshop, topics to be addressed include the Nigerian gas sector stakeholders and value chain, the Nigerian power sector stakeholders and value chain, the gas-to-power value chain, an overview of existing gas infrastructure, gas demand versus production, gas sector value drivers and DSO - domestic supply obligation, and the Nigerian gas master plan.

The second half of the workshop will include topics such as opportunities for private sector investment, liquidity sources, valuation of precedent transactions, gas price deregulation, estimated gas-to-power requirements, and an overview of privatized genco assets, investment requirements and constraints.

The course will also include an overview of NBET and TCN, as well as an examination of the discos’ current situation, as well as recommendations that might put the industry in a better financial position.

Workshop Instructor is Wale Shonibare, Managing Director, Shonibare Consulting, a dedicated Infrastructure Finance and PPP Advisory practice based in Dubai, UAE. He has over 27 years experience spanning Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
